Meditation-1200x600

The answer is YES!

Meditation has been a routine many include as part of their daily regimen.  The concept of Meditation has been known and used for thousands of years.  Archaeologists have dated the concept of meditation back as early as 5000 BC, and the practice has ties to ancient Egypt and China, as well as Judaism, Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism and, of course, Buddhism.  Many argue that it was made popular by the Buddhists but today its used globally.

Studies show results!

In 2003 article titled ‘Just Say Om’, TIME magazine noted “Scientists study it. Doctors recommend it. Millions of Americans–many of whom don’t even own crystals–practice it every day. Why? Because meditation works”

In a 2016 article titled ‘How Meditation Went Mainstream’, TIME magazine dives into the modern approach and benefits of meditation.  Today, Meditation is used by professions to help calm the mind, help with focus, relaxation, and so much more.

Recently a study was published in People Magazine titled ‘Meditation Works as Well as Medication to Reduce Anxiety, Study Finds’.  Published 11/14/2022

The article finds that people the followed a mindfulness-based meditation saw the same reduction in anxiety as compared to those using medication.

You should try it!  Take 5-15 minutes a couple times a day and center your mind.  You’ll be surprised at how you feel!  It does take a lot of effort and the results can be hugely beneficial.

You might think that work gets in the way…

We’re all very busy!  Work is stressful, spending an hour in traffic commutes, kids, family, and the problems we try to solve every day.

Take time for YOU!  Meditation can be done anywhere.  Try to find a quiet place where you’re uninterrupted and make time to focus on you mindfulness and spirit.

There’s nothing wrong with taking a few minutes at your desk.  Meditation and mindfulness can improve work performance, personal relationships, and health.  In an average 9-to-5 work day, just 5 minutes of deep breathing, reflection, and tension release can work to decrease stress levels and increase overall productivity.
