Dynamic, powerful music by Mozart's contemporary, Carulli,
is played on guitar and piano.
The music collection on this CD produces, on a psychological
plane, an intensive call to reality; it beckons the dreamer back
to the here and now.
Graceful, slow central movements stand in contrast to the
lively introductory and final movements. The guitar, as a
plucked stringed instrument, is characterized by a special
richness in overtones.
The recording is more strongly right ear-weighted so as to
stimulate the left hemisphere of the brain and thereby the
logical domain. Elements of lateral organization were
however also consciously addressed in the production of this
CD, by means of the recording configuration and sound
mixing. The guitar carries the melody on the right-hand side,
whereas on the left, the piano provides the accompaniment,
but also frequently takes over the melody lines. By alternating
the focus between the two instruments, the recording achieves
laterality training on a subtle but encompassing level.
